Oh My, this is not what we expected

Yes, you’ve arrived at the trusty 23E Studios blog. But now it looks all, different. And all the old posts have disappeared.

Sorry, we’re working on it. We’ve upgraded the 23E Studios website and are upgrading the blog. And as is always the case with upgrades, we ran into some bugs.

Harrumph.

We should have the history up soon. And I’ll be manicuring the blog in the coming days.

Until then, the good news, and there is lots of it:

It looks like we may have a game designer. A Flash game designer in L.A. is speaking with us about designing a Disembody video game for the theater arcade.

We have secured a very nice projector for the theater. We have also come close to acquiring all the computers needed for the show. That’s 6 or 7. It looks like the only thing we’ll need to rent is an editing station. Unsurprisingly, no one wants to loan out a Mac Pro with a cinema screen and Final Cut Pro. Imagine that!

Today we got the go ahead from Susan (she is the best executive producer ever!) to use the Fringe storage space (a very large room downstairs where our production facility is being built) as our recording studio for the soundtrack. Our composers, Phil and Libby, will be down there with all my gear and much of theirs. And many guest musicians, such as my partner in the Stowe-Pembleton Project, Nobu.

Sunday night we had a production meeting. I can’t even tell you how relieved I am that we all came out of it upbeat and joyful. Most of our equipment needs are met. And through donation or loan, to boot. As well, the crew all get along and are very much on the same page about how this will have to be shot and edited.

So, yeah, lots of good news. Now I just need to raise a little bit more money to finance the crazier elements, and we’ll have one of the strangest projects ever to hit Chinatown.
