the Morgellon survived its first earthquake

this morning L.A. experienced a 5.8 earthquake. That’s not big, but it does shake things up.

Skye and I were in the basement, and the swaying was pretty serious.
And the animal fear that pumped into our systems was also pretty serious.
There is a very specific sensation that earthquakes trigger. And we had it in spades. We, along with everyone else in Chinatown, ran outside. Where, however, none of us stayed, because there were no aftershocks to speak of.

I am pleased to say that inside our wall still stood strong, no cracks in the puttied screen. The ceiling and chandelier are solid. The arcades chugged along, as did the webcam. Our installation survived unscathed.

Huzzah!

  1. I’m pretty used to earthquakes. It’s like what’s the BFD? But 5.8 is getting there. Not huge but definitely of a crush a random unlucky dude in a basement with a falling milkcrate that wasn’t stacked well while leaving the rest of town unscathed magnitiuge.

So I’m glad the ceiling didn’t slip off its brads and hurt anyone.
