FILM ON FILM #32: Film as History
May 30, 2008
I imagine you floating on the river to the sea
In our polite misunderstanding of the kingdom
We define a complicated costume
Which we say “very avant-garde”
Whenever I become cultured or sharp
In the deadly ruins covered by the snow
We celebrate our “de-/post-/meta-/re-”
Like the disciplined expressionists
Certain rules of dining have been admired
Embedded by the barbarians
I interrupt his realization of a kind of close-minded open-ending
Russian Ark (Alexander Sokurov, 2002)
